Sandrien

Sandrien van Rossum is a Dutch DJ and producer from the Netherlands, associated with minimal techno, techno and electronica. She begins DJing in 1999, first playing local parties in Amsterdam, both on her own and with Carlos Valdes, a longstanding DJ partner.

Amsterdam scene and residencies

She establishes a reputation in Amsterdam’s club scene and becomes a resident at TrouwAmsterdam, where she launches and hosts her monthly underground techno night Imprint in 2010. Imprint later develops into a recognised club brand with a broad audience. She also runs a night called MAD2 with Valdes at Club 11.

Performances and reach

Sandrien plays widely in the Netherlands at venues including Stubnitz, Doornroosje and Studio 80, and at large events such as Awakenings Festival, Innercity, Lowlands Festival and 5 Days Off. Her bookings also take her outside the Netherlands, including appearances at Berghain, Nachtdigital, Machine at Corsica Studios in London, Concrete in Paris and Berns in Stockholm.

Radio and productions

She launches the Imprint radio show on Amsterdam-based Red Light Radio. As a producer, she releases the Haters EP on Darko Esser’s Wolfskuil label, with the title track used by Danny Howells on his Balance mix CD. She also releases I Left My Girlfriend At The Club on Ben Sims’ Theory label, and Ben Sims uses it on his Fabric mix CD.
