Samsara Collective is a US experimental group from Baltimore, active since 2000. The group includes Avey Tare, Deakin, Geologist, Panda Bear, Dave Portner and Brian Weitz, and is associated with avant-folk, avant-garde, avant-garde pop, electronic, experimental and freak folk.

Described in reggae terms, Samsara Collective presents an open-minded approach to the roots tradition. Their music references the original innovators of the genre while avoiding fixed stylistic conventions, and it is characterised by a hook-led approach that reshapes reggae into a new form. Their sound has also been described as taking “a startlingly new angle on the Jamaican sound”.
