Samsara Blues Experiment are a German psychedelic rock group from Berlin. The band forms in 2007 and is active until 2020. It is founded by lead guitarist and singer Christian Peters, who is the only named member in the verified facts, and its early line-up settles into a stable form in September 2008.

Style and sound

The group’s music combines blues-based rock with spiritual influences and Indian or raga music, alongside an experimental approach that mixes different elements together. Their songs feature dual guitar work, heavy psych, stoner metal and space rock, and also draw on retro styles, jamming passages and repetitive, hypnotic structures associated with krautrock.

Career

Before releasing a debut album, the band puts out two EPs and tours extensively in Europe and on the US West Coast. Their debut album, Long Distance Trip, appears on World In Sound in 2010 and presents the sound they have developed up to that point.
