Sam Wilkes is an American electric bassist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music producer. Born on July 22, 1991, he studies funk and R&B at the USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles, where he meets frequent collaborator Sam Gendel.

Wilkes works across jazz, electronic music, fusion, experimental music, ambient jazz, indie rock, and chamber pop. His music combines 21st-century electronic elements with ambient jazz and later moves toward indie rock and chamber pop. He is noted for a versatile approach that spans different styles.
