Sam Walker
Sam Walker is a singer and songwriter from Redditch, UK. He begins playing guitar in junior high and develops enough confidence and technical ability to start writing his own music during his high school years. He moves from supporting vocal parts to leading group singing in school settings and worship services, then starts composing original songs and looking for live performance opportunities.
He performs in coffee shops and at live music events in central Arkansas and tours across eight states during the summer before his senior year of high school. During this period he plays with artists from different backgrounds, and his style becomes more defined as he experiments with his sound.
Recording career
Walker’s first album is Haunted by Dreams, released in 2007. The record reflects his development as a musician and combines indie influences from the artists he plays with on the road with elements of corporate worship music. It also features a noticeable folk sound. Tracks highlighted on the album include Idle Hands, April Showers and Plight of the Wise One.
His music is compared by one listener to Simon & Garfunkel.
