Sam Richardson is a UK singer-songwriter from Sussex, England. He works with Sam Richardson & The Renegades and is associated with an electronic style. Richardson grows up in a farmhouse in Sussex and later lives in Leeds.

His parents are involved in the local folk scene, but he rejects that background and develops a dislike for folk music and the folk community from an early age. He turns instead to sampling computer games and collecting synthesizers, which becomes central to his musical direction. He is signed to the small label if this continues.
