Sam McLoughlin

Sam McLoughlin is a songwriter and electronic artist from the North West of England. His work uses a cut-and-paste approach, assembling short sketches and home-recorded ideas into longer tracks. It draws on wyrd folk, kraut, tropicalia, experimentation and a DIY aesthetic.

Releases and label work

McLoughlin releases material on Folklore Tapes, where he has issued four EPs. He also contributes regularly to the label’s compilations.

Other names and collaborations

He records under the names Tongues Of Light, Samandtheplants and N.Racker. Samandtheplants is a project he formerly makes with Alison Cooper of Magpahi. He is also a member of NeoTantrik, and is listed as part of Lo Imp and Sam & Bridget.
