Sam and Mark

Sam and Mark are the British pop duo made up of Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes. They first come to prominence after finishing as runner-up and third place, respectively, on series 2 of Pop Idol. They later achieve a number one single with A Little Help From My Friends / Measure Of A Man, and their second single, The Sun Has Come Your Way, reaches number 19 in the UK Top 40.

Television presenting

After their early chart success, they co-present Top of the Pops Saturday with Fearne Cotton. The programme later becomes Top of the Pops Reloaded. They then present the interactive CBBC2 show Level Up on weekdays, before moving on to the Saturday morning children’s show TMI, an abbreviation of “Too Much Information”.

Public profile

The duo build a fanbase through signings across the UK, with large crowds attending appearances after their first hit single. They remain known as the only performers from Pop Idol series 2 to continue with sustained success.
