Salute

Salute is a UK thrash metal group formed in Bristol in 2004 and active since then. The band begins with an early independent EP, Break-Neck Speed Triumph, released in 2005 without label backing. It then signs to the British underground label and distributor Todestrieb Records for its first full-length album, Above the Law, which appears in 2007.

Albums and label activity

In 2009, Salute moves to the German underground metal and thrash label Witches Brew and releases The Underground that same year. That album marks a change in the band’s direction, with the group described as moving into black/crust metal territory after this release.

Membership and connections

Salute includes musicians who also play in other underground bands, including Swine, Tanhauser Gate and Hateful Abandon. The band sits within the UK heavy and thrash underground, with its material also associated with sleaze and crust influences.
