Salt House

Salt House is a Scottish acoustic folk group formed in 2013 and active since then. The group comprises Lauren MacColl, Ewan MacPherson and Jenny Sturgeon. MacColl plays fiddle, viola and vocals; MacPherson sings and plays guitars; and Sturgeon sings and plays keys and guitar.

Releases

The group’s debut album, Lay Your Dark Low, appears in 2013 and is described as the work of a significant new collective. Later releases include Undersong in 2018, Huam in 2020 and Working For Zeus in 2021. Their fifth album, Riverwoods, appears in 2023 and is written entirely by the band, combining vocal songs with instrumental tunes.

Earlier members include Siobhan Miller on vocals and harmonium, and Euan Burton on double bass.
