Salt Ashes is the recording name of Veiga Sanchez, a UK electronic and pop artist known for dark synth-pop and club-oriented dance music. Her sound draws on disco and atmospheric production, with influences including Giorgio Moroder, Madonna, Kate Bush, Daft Punk and MIA.

Releases and chart success

In 2014, Salt Ashes releases the singles “Somebody” and “If You Let Me Go”, both of which reach the Top 5 on Billboard and Music Week dance charts. “If You Let Me Go” also wins MTVU Freshmen and MTV IGGY’s Artist of the Week. In 2015, she releases “Raided”, which becomes a Spotify fan favourite and receives support from BBC Introducing and playlisting on BBC Radio 1Xtra.

She also contributes writing and vocals to Kristian Nairn’s single “4Love” and to CRUELS’ “Give It Up”. Her self-titled debut album is produced by Daniel Fridholm, also known as Cruelty, and Rob Irving of House of Emeralds. The album leads to further chart activity, and the single “Save It” peaks at number 22 on Billboard’s Dance Club Chart and appears on Music Week’s club charts and other listings.

Live work

Salt Ashes performs at venues across the UK and supports a number of other acts, including Say Lou Lou, Tove Styrke, Bright Light Bright Light, Femme, Nimmo and Little Boots.
