Saints & Sinners
Saints & Sinners is the recording name used by German trance duo Jörg Querner and Wilfried Belz. Querner also records under the aliases Dove Beat, Van Bellen, Yoogie and Yoogie Van Bellen.
The name has also been used by at least two other acts: a short-lived melodic hard rock band formed in 1991 from the remains of heavy metal band Sword, and an Oi! punk band from Prague, Czech Republic.
Melodic hard rock band
The melodic hard rock group is formed in 1991 by former Sword members Rick Hughes on vocals and Jeff Salem on drums, with Stephane Dufour on guitar, Martin Balduc on bass and keyboardist Jesse Bradman, who has also played with Aldo Nova, Night Ranger and UFO. Aldo Nova performs on and produces the band’s debut album, Saints & Sinners, which appears in 1992. The band tours for the release, but the combination of an independent label and the rise of grunge in the mainstream leaves them overlooked, and they split in 1993. Bradman later forms Jesse’s Powertrip with former members of Aldo Nova, Bad English and Guiffria.
Oi! punk band
The Oi! punk group begins under the name Skinhead Times before changing its name to Sinners & Saints. In 2011 it releases the songs “Voice of the Streets” and “Last of the Gang” featuring Jenny Woo, and it records its first 7-inch EP.
