Saint Levant

Saint Levant is the recording name of Marwan Abdelhamid, a Palestinian, French, Algerian and Serbian musician. He is a hip hop and R&B artist from Jerusalem and is raised in Gaza. His work combines English, French and Arabic, and his writing is known for trilingual wordplay that sits between contemporary global pop and Arabic musical references.

His music draws on influential Arab thinkers from earlier generations as well as present-day artists. The sound is often described through its links to the early 2000s while also moving beyond standard genre boundaries. He also launches the 2048 Fellowship, which provides yearly living expenses for young Palestinian creatives, and starts the 2048 label imprint to maintain his independence as an artist.
