Sad

Sad is a Greek black metal band from Attiki, active since 2005. The group forms around Ungod of Insidius Infernus and Nadir, with the project set up as a raw black metal act with a minimal approach: no keyboards, no samples, and an emphasis on bleak and pessimistic material. The lyrics focus on dark aspects of life and related themes rather than politics or optimistic subject matter.

Releases

The band’s first recording is the demo Total Nothingness, which is completed in July 2005. Ungod writes and plays all the music on the release, while Nadir writes the lyrics and provides vocals. The debut full-length A Curse in Disguise follows in 2007. Sad later releases Enlightened by Darkness in 2009, then Abandoned and Forgotten in 2010. Their EP ...And His Minions Shall Eternally Reign contains two songs.

Style and activity

Sad is described as a raw black metal project with a dismal, minimal sound. The band also appears under black metal and related underground black metal tags including depressive black metal, atmospheric black metal and suicidal black metal.
