Sabbat

Sabbat are a Japanese black/thrash metal band from Kuwana, Japan, active from 1983 to the present. The band begins in 1983 with EVIL, a group formed by Gezol on bass, Ozny and Elizaveat on guitars, Valvin on drums and Toshiya on vocals. Before that, most of the members play together in high school bands such as ABURAMUSHI, HOT ROD and BLACK BEAST, where they mainly cover NWOBHM bands including Iron Maiden and Demon. With EVIL, the focus shifts to original material, and the group plays its first gig in August 1983.

The Japanese Sabbat release numerous EPs, splits, albums and live recordings, and remain active. Their sound sits within black metal and thrash metal, and they are identified as a Japanese black/thrash metal band.
