Saara Aalto is a Finnish singer, songwriter and voice actress from Oulunsalo, Finland. Born in 1987, she is also credited as a voice-over performer.

Career

Aalto places second in the first series of The Voice of Finland in 2012. She also takes part in the Finnish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest twice with self-written songs: in 2011 with Blessed with Love and in 2016 with No Fear. On both occasions she finishes second.

In 2016 she comes runner-up in the thirteenth series of The X Factor UK, which brings her wider international attention. That same year she is the most googled person in Finland and is voted Finnish person of the year by readers of Iltalehti.

Music and recordings

Aalto releases five albums on her own label, Yume Records. After The X Factor UK, she is signed to Sony Music UK and Sony Music Finland, before later moving to Warner Music Group.

Stage, film and television work

She appears in stage musicals and has done extensive dubbing work for feature films and foreign television series. She is the Finnish voice of Princess Anna in Disney's animated film Frozen.

Collaborations

Aalto duets with Adam Lambert and performs in concerts with Andrea Bocelli, José Carreras and pianist Robert Wells. In 2017 she is announced as a judge on the second series of X Factor Suomi.

Eurovision connection

In 2018 she represents Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest.
