Ryan Sheridan

Ryan Sheridan is an Irish singer-songwriter and guitarist from County Monaghan. He performs as a solo act and works in pop, acoustic and rock-influenced settings.

Early years and first performances

As a teenager, he begins performing in pubs and clubs on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York. He then moves to Glasgow in 2004, where he forms a three-piece rock band called Shiversaint and plays the Scottish live circuit. The group later relocates to Dublin in 2006.

Shiversaint and return to music

After Shiversaint runs its course, Sheridan takes a two-year break from music and runs a bar in his home town. He returns to Dublin in 2009 and starts working with Polish percussionist Artur Graczyk, an old friend from the later period of Shiversaint.

Solo work and breakthrough

With Sheridan on acoustic guitar and Graczyk on cajon, the pair perform on the streets of Dublin. Their live set draws attention from his management team, leading to a showcase at The Academy and then a recording deal with the Irish independent label Rubyworks. His debut single, Jigsaw, gains radio play in Ireland and performs strongly on iTunes.

Live performances and collaborators

Sheridan appears at major festivals including Oxegen, Electric Picnic and Benicassim in Spain. He also shares Irish bills with Rodrigo y Gabriela, Mark Lanegan and Wallis Bird.
