ruti is a British singer from Southend-on-Sea who is born in 1999. She comes to wider attention after winning The Voice in 2018.

Early life and training

Before appearing on television, Ruti works as a part-time caregiver and studies at Youth Creation Performing Arts School in Stanford-le-Hope. She also takes part in both a harmony group and a dance group in her spare time.

Career

Ruti enters the ITV talent show The Voice in 2018 and joins Tom Jones’s team after performing George Ezra’s “Budapest.” She wins the competition after beating Donel Mangena in the final and, after winning the public vote, signs a record deal with Polydor.

After the series, she releases her winner’s single, a cover of the Cranberries’ “Dreams.”
