Russell G

Russell G is a trance DJ and producer from Birmingham. He starts DJing in 2001 after spending time at club nights and hearing sets from DJs including Tall Paul, Seb Fontaine and Sasha. By 2004, his sound shifts towards house and progressive styles, and he plays at venues and events such as Godskitchen, The Gallery at Turnmills and The Honey Club in Brighton.

DJ work

Russell G appears on line-ups alongside Mark Knight and Funkagenda, and he becomes a regular at Godskitchen in 2008 and 2009. During that period he shares bills with Sasha and Digweed, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox and Above & Beyond. He also performs outside the UK, including a Godskitchen set in Sweden on New Year’s Eve 2008, and dates in Ukraine, Poland, Slovenia and Egypt.

Production and radio play

His productions circulate among DJs including Tiesto, Armin, Eric Prydz, Veerus and Maxie Devine, Thomas Gold and Patric Le Funk. His DJ sets and productions are also played on Radio 1, Galaxy and Kiss FM. He features on the “15 mins..” segment on Tiesto’s Clublife Radio show, reaching a large audience there.

Labels and releases

Russell G releases material on labels including Armada, Black Hole, Baroque, Hotfingers and 303lovers. His discography includes tracks such as Led Astray, Lose It, Dark Room, Whiplash, Stranded, Every Which Way, Solstice, 3AM, Ascend, PTB and Idera. He also works with Steve Haines as R+S and under their names on releases including Slipstream, Arlanda and Twisted. Other collaborations include work with Maxi Valvona and Ad Brown.
