Early releases and live activity

The band forms in 2008 and releases its first mini-CD in December of that year, after a few changes in the line-up. The recording includes contributions from Francesco “Fry” Moneti, the violinist of Modena City Ramblers, and Cico, the lead singer of Roy Paci & Aretuska. Their music gains attention through performances in bars and on Italian radio, and they also support concerts by Modena City Ramblers, Punkreas, Ministri and Ska-J. They also play a short tour in Spain and win several competitions and contests.

Debut album

In January 2011 the band meets Mustafa Cengic, also known as Muce, a former musician of No Smoking Orchestra who works as an artistic producer and sound engineer. After a few months of rehearsals, they record their first studio album, Just Married. The album presents the group’s mixture of musical identities and styles, combining elements such as latina, swing, balkan music, reggae, soul and folk. Other professional and amateur musician friends contribute to the recording with their own sounds.

Style

Rumba de Bodas build their sound from a mix of different genres and cultural influences, with the ensemble format allowing brass, woodwind, rhythm section, keyboards, accordion and strings to sit alongside vocals.
