Ruben Moreno

Ruben Moreno is a musician from Tucson who works in zydeco and related Louisiana-style dance music. He first appears on stage at the age of 10, when he opens at the Continental Club in Austin, Texas, playing rubboard with Leroy Thomas & the Zydeco Roadrunners. After that, he spends the next decade touring with Thomas and C.J. Chenier.

Career

Moreno later moves to the California Bay Area, where he is mentored by zydeco musician Andre Thierry. In October 2011, he releases his first solo recording, Por Ti Volare (For You I Will Fly), which Thierry produces. The recording brings him wider attention and recognition from figures including Buckwheat Zydeco.
