Royal Sorrow are a Finnish progressive metal band from Helsinki, active since 2022. The group is known for combining progressive metal and progressive rock with elements drawn from electronic music, symphonic music, pop and hip-hop.

History and name

The band forms in 2022 and begins life under the name Edge of Haze before adopting Royal Sorrow. In the same year, they sign with Inside Out Music.

Line-up

Royal Sorrow consist of Markus Hentunen on vocals and guitar, Eero Maijala on bass, Janne Mieskonen on drums, and Juha Rapanen on guitar.

The band’s music is described as mixing heavy guitar-driven metal with vivid, versatile vocals and a wide range of additional textures, giving their sound a broad and layered character.
