Rosco Levee

Rosco Levee is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Kent. He plays guitar and writes songs, and his work draws on blues, country and rock and roll. He says he has been playing guitar for 23 years and describes songwriting as a daily practice, with new songs, lyrics or melodies forming regularly.

Background and influences

Levee develops his style from the music he grew up with, including blues, country and rock and roll. His influences include Robert Johnson, Delaney Bramlett and Elvis Presley, as well as The Allman Brothers, the Rolling Stones and The Band. He is encouraged by fellow singer-songwriter Pete Molinari, who prompts him to return to these roots.

Debut album

Final Approach to Home is his debut album. On the record, Levee works with a band that includes Lee Wilson on keys, Simon Gardiner on bass, Andy Hayes on guitars and mandolin, and David Tettmar on drums. Additional musicians on the album include Duncan Mackay on horns, Ian Cutler on fiddle, and Pete Jackson on banjo and backing vocals.

Performing and live work

Levee tours with his band in support of Final Approach to Home and also appears at festivals. His recording and live work place him within singer-songwriter, country, classic rock and guitar-based rock traditions.
