Rookes

Rookes is a London-based singer whose music sits across electro, electropop, indie pop, pop and rock. Her work is described as blending dark indie-pop melodies with moody guitar grooves and a pop edge.

She first appears with the debut track The Heel Of My Hand, which highlights her songwriting and vocal style. The release comes out on Seahorse Music, an all-female label.

Her sound is also placed in relation to artists such as Flock of Dimes, St. Vincent and Annie Lennox in her Eurythmics period, suggesting a combination of brooding emotion and sharp pop structure.
