Ron Block is an American banjo player, guitarist and singer born in 1964 in Inglewood, California. He receives his first guitar at 11 and develops an interest in banjo at 13 after seeing Lester Flatt on television. His interest in guitar playing and singing grows after seeing The Stanley Brothers and Larry Sparks.

Career

Block is best known for his work with Alison Krauss & Union Station, a Grammy Award-winning band. He is also a member of Weary Hearts and performs as part of Damien O'Kane & Ron Block.
