Roller Trio
Roller Trio is a jazz-rock group from Leeds, United Kingdom, active since 2011. The band forms at Leeds College of Music, where its original members are studying.
Career
The group begins as a trio featuring James Mainwairing on tenor saxophone and electronics, Luke Wynter on guitar, and Luke Reddin-Williams on drums. In May 2017, guitarist Chris Sharkey replaces Luke Wynter; Sharkey also plays with TrioVD and Acoustic Ladyland.
Roller Trio’s self-titled debut album is released in 2012 and receives a Mercury Prize nomination. The band is also nominated for Best Jazz Act at the MOBO Awards in the same year. Its third album is released in 2018 on Edition Records.
