Rocketsmiths

Rocketsmiths are a Brisbane rock group. The line-up includes Dom Miller, and the act is described as a quintet. Their music moves across indie rock and punk, with earlier releases also drawing on country and rockabilly elements.

Releases and style

The group releases the single “Underground” and records a debut album called The Bones, produced by Magoo. Their earlier EPs are Parts, Pieces and Meet Horace And Clyde. These releases show a shift from country and rockabilly-tinged material towards indie-rock and punk party songs.

Airplay and screen use

The track “The Boy Who Cried Misery” receives rotation on triple j. It is also placed in episode ten of Underbelly: The Golden Mile.

Live activity

Rocketsmiths support Spoon on the Brisbane leg of their national tour. They are also associated with energetic stage performances and a raw, off-kilter rock sound.
