Rocket

Rocket is the name used by a number of different acts, including a remix duo made up of DJ Garth and Eric James, an indie rock band from Los Angeles, an all-girl rock group, a band from San Antonio in Chile, and a Russian rap artist. The LA indie rock group forms in 2021 and consists of Alithea Tuttle on bass and vocals, Desi Scaglione and Baron Rinzler on guitars, and Cooper Ladomade on drums. It releases its debut EP, Versions of You, in 2023 and tours with Sunny Day Real Estate, bôa, and Ride.

The all-girl rock band version of Rocket begins as a trio of Laurens and releases Too Hot to be Bothered in 2005 before expanding into a five-piece later that year. Its first live show is a sold-out headline appearance at the Viper Room. It follows with the EP Girls With Candy Hearts in 2006, plays the Van's Warped Tour, supports Butch Walker in 2007, and opens for acts including Rancid, OK GO, Morningwood, The Sounds, Kill Hannah, The Honorary Title, The Dwarves, The Polysics and The Ark. It also tours with SuicideGirls and The Lashes.

The Chilean Rocket starts in San Antonio in 2004 under the name Maybe Guilt is On Me, with Mariano Hernandez, Rodrigo Saez and Fabián Rosales in the original line-up. It begins as an experimental project influenced by The Get Up Kids, changes direction in 2006 after lead guitarist Felipe Fernández leaves, and adopts a warmer acoustic sound centred on folk acoustic guitar. The group becomes Rocket Science Project, records two tracks in 2007 with Ignacio Rosales on keyboards for La Somba Records, adds guitarist Juan Manzor later that year, and shortens its name to Rocket while working on a debut album with producer Pepe Lastarria in Santiago.
