Robin S

Robin S is the stage name of US singer Robin Stone, a vocal house artist from Queens, New York. Born in 1962, she becomes widely associated with 1990s dance music through a run of club and chart successes built around strong vocals and house production that uses live instrumentation as well as electronic elements.

Career

She signs to Big Beat Records in 1993 and debuts with “Show Me Love”, her first single and a Top Ten hit. The track becomes a number one club hit and leads to her first album, also titled Show Me Love. She later follows it with “Luv 4 Luv”, another notable 1990s single.

Albums and collaborations

After spending time developing her songwriting, she works with producers including Eric “E-Smoove” Miller and Todd Terry on her second album. From Now On is released on Atlantic in 1997 and broadens her sound beyond dance music to include gospel and ballads alongside hi-NRG material. The album produces the dance-chart single “It Must Be Love”.

Later activity

Robin S continues to tour and collaborate with DJs internationally. In 2024 she signs with Humble Sound Records in collaboration with James Artissen to release new music.
