Robin Ince

Robin Ince is an English stand-up comedian, actor and writer from the United Kingdom. Born in 1969, he also appears on spoken word, podcast and comedy bills, and is associated with the “Just a Minute” team.

Comedy, radio and live events

Ince is a regular contributor to live comedy and spoken word events. He performs at Latitude Festival, where he presents a mix of his stand-up material and Book Club. He also supports the annual Pestival, a festival that brings together science, music and comedy.

He is involved with the Rationalist Association and New Humanist magazine, helping to organise events at the Bloomsbury Theatre and the Hammersmith Apollo that feature scientists, musicians and comedians.

Humanist and science-themed work

Ince fronts and organises science-and-comedy events including Nine Lessons and Carols for Godless People, first held in Christmas 2008, and Night of 40 Billion Stars. Regular contributors to these shows include Josie Long, Chris Addison, Ricky Gervais, Richard Dawkins, Simon Singh and Philip Jeays.

In 2009, he organises two Darwin's Birthday Spectacular events with Josie Long, marking Charles Darwin’s 200th birthday and the 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species.

He is an atheist and is made a Distinguished Supporter of the British Humanist Association.
