Robert James

Robert James is a guitarist and songwriter from the Gold Coast, Australia. He is also described as a classical guitar street performer from the Gold Coast.

He releases solo work under his own name, including his first solo album, Suzannah Suite. On that record, his voice and orchestration come to the fore alongside his guitar work.

He is associated with the Australian band GANGgajang, where his guitar style appears on recordings including Sounds Of Then (also known as This Is Australia), a song that becomes an Australian classic. His guitar playing also appears across many other albums by Australian artists.

As a songwriter, he contributes material to several releases by Wendy Matthews. His song Homecoming Song, on her album Lily, is the lyrical starting point for that record.
