Riton

Riton is the stage name of Henry Smithson, an English electronic DJ and musician from Newcastle upon Tyne. He studies at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne before starting to DJ at Newcastle nightclub Shindig, where he is discovered by Mark Rae and signed to Grand Central Records. He later works in Manchester at Fat City Records, which operates as a label, distribution outlet and record shop.

His first release, Communicated, appears on the Grand Central compilation Central Heating 2. In 2001 he releases his debut album, Beats du Jour, which is mostly instrumental, and in 2004 he follows it with his second album, Homies and Homos. In 2010 he also launches Carte Blanche with DJ Mehdi.
