Ripe

Ripe is an Australian indie rock group from Melbourne. It is best known for combining alternative rock and shoegaze, and for a short recording history spread across the early 1990s and a later reformation.

Melbourne line-up and early releases

The band releases two albums: Filterfeed in 1990 on Polyester Records and The Plastic Hassle in 1993 on Beggars Banquet. Its original activity ends shortly after The Plastic Hassle. Two members, Mark Murphy and Katie Dixon, then form a new group called Moondriven.

Reformation and later activity

In 2006, Mark Murphy and Katie Dixon reform Ripe with additional members. This version of the group releases the EP Galaxies And Stars on Timberyard Records and undertakes touring before disbanding again in 2007.
