Riley & Durrant

Riley & Durrant are a British electronic music group made up of Andi Durrant and Nick Riley. They work across trance, progressive house, house and progressive trance.

Release and production work

The duo release their debut album, Research & Development, in summer 2007. It enters the iTunes top 50 in its first month and receives strong critical notice for its genre-crossing approach. The album includes the first single, Hollow, which is playlisted on national radio and supported by DJs including Pete Tong and Armin van Buuren.

They also issue an EP featuring Aurora and Experiment No. 2, which Mixmag names a must-have release of the month in its January 2008 issue. Their remix work includes releases for labels such as CR2, Sony, Positiva, Black Hole and Maelstrom, as well as Mark Brown’s Journey Continues.

Radio and broadcasting

Between them, Riley & Durrant present three flagship specialist shows on Galaxy Network. These include the Saturday night Warmup programme and Nu Breed, a show associated with helping to launch the careers of artists including the Trophy Twins, Adam Sheridan and Paul Woolford. Andi Durrant also receives a Sony Award for Music Broadcaster of the Year.

Label and club activity

The pair run the Nu Breed Music label, which focuses on underground and emerging talent and releases music by new international producers. They also run the club night Electrik Playground with Adam Sheridan. The night becomes a regular event at Mission in Leeds and later expands to Ibiza, where they host the second room at Privilege alongside Tiësto.

Live performances

Riley & Durrant perform at major UK festivals for Godskitchen, Gatecrasher and Cream, including main stage appearances at Creamfields. They also play live broadcasts from Amnesia and Mambo in Ibiza, return to Moscow for a show at Zona, and finish the year with a Riley & Durrant Soundsystem performance to 4,000 people on a beach in Malaysia.
