Rika is a Vienna, Austria-based emo and indie rock act that forms in January 2005. The line-up changes over time, and the group is described as three men and one woman. Their music sits in the area of midwest emo and post-rock, with intertwining guitar lines, abrupt bursts of energy and layered harmonies. The comparison points given for the sound are Mineral, The Appleseed Cast and Sometree.

Recording and releases

After a small number of live shows, Rika record a first DIY demo CD-R in May 2005. That release is now out of print. In September 2006 they complete another DIY recording session and finish a self-titled full-length demo CD-R, which is available to download.

Live activity

Following those early recordings, Rika play a substantial number of shows in Austria and in the surrounding area.
