Richard Blackwood

Richard Blackwood is a British rapper, television personality, crime novelist, magician, actor and MC of Jamaican origin from Clapham, London. He is born in 1972 and works in the UK hip-hop and gangster rap scene.

Broadcasting and television

Blackwood presents RB's Sunday School on Choice FM in London and also appears as a disc jockey at nightclubs across the United Kingdom. He appears on television as well as in music and live entertainment contexts.

Music

He performs as a gangster rapper and MC, and has also worked under the alias R. Biddy, a name linked to his admiration for P. Diddy. He is involved in the UK music scene through radio, club appearances and live guest spots. In 2001, he appears on Brass Eye and is duped into performing a song for the programme, Stay Away From The Guy With The Funny Eye by DJ Bob Hoskinz, which is described as the last song he performs.

Other work and public life

Blackwood is also a crime novelist and magician, and he has worked as a sometime actor. In 2003, his Isle of Dogs home is repossessed and he declares himself bankrupt. He is later heckled by passers-by with references to this bankruptcy, and at one point he places a gun to his head before being restrained by his girlfriend.

Education and discussion events

In 2008, he forms a series of Real Talk seminars in association with Choice FM, Kiss 100 and The Police. These monthly discussions address issues affecting young people, including gun and knife crime.
