Rhythm Masters

Rhythm Masters are a house music duo made up of DJs Robert Chetcuti and Steve Mac, also known as Steve McGuinness. They begin working together around 1993 after meeting in Malta. Their music sits within house, deep house, funk, dance and electronic styles.

Work and releases

The duo are known for remix work for a range of artists including Todd Terry, Michael Jackson, INXS, Junior Vasquez, David Morales and Roger Sanchez. In 2001 they release a full-length album, Disconnect Your Head, on Tommy Boy Records’s Silver Label.

Club success and later activity

Rhythm Masters score two club hits in the United States: “Ghetto”, featuring Jo Watson, reaches number 10 on the Dance/Club Play chart, and “The Underground” reaches number 6. They continue releasing tracks together into the mid-2000s before splitting to work as solo artists.
