ReVamp is a Dutch symphonic metal and heavy metal group from Limburg, formed in 2009 after the breakup of Floor Jansen’s previous band, After Forever. The band is active between 2009 and 2016 and is led by Jansen, who is its singer and principal songwriter. Its music also sits in progressive metal.

Line-up and personnel

ReVamp’s line-up includes Floor Jansen on vocals, Jord Otto on guitar and occasional vocals, and Arjan Rijnen on guitar. Other members include Ruben Wijga on keyboards, Matthias Landes on drums, and Henk Vonk on bass, who replaces Jaap Melman. The project is closely associated with Jansen’s earlier work in After Forever, and is described as a metal band formed by the former After Forever vocalist.

Debut album

The band’s first album, ReVamp, is written with contributions from Jansen, Waldemar Sorychta, and Joost van den Broek. Sorychta is associated with Grip Inc. and Enemy of the Sun, while van den Broek is a former After Forever colleague who works on keyboards and arrangements. Koen Herfst also contributes as drummer; he is associated with I Chaos, Xenobia, and Dew-Scented. The studio line-up for the album consists of Jansen, van den Broek, Sorychta, and Herfst. The album is issued by Nuclear Blast Records in 2010.

Later activity

In 2015, Jansen says the band is on hiatus because of her commitments with Nightwish, and she states that she is unsure whether it returns.
