Regicide

Regicide is a German power and speed metal group from Wuppertal, Germany, active from 1987 to 1998. The name is used by several different metal acts, but this entry refers to the German group.

The band forms in 2001 in one account as a seven-piece symphonic metal act with both female and male lead vocals, alongside violin, keyboard, guitar, bass and drums. It releases its first album, Viorus, in 2004, and the record receives a positive response in the German music press. The group follows it with Break The Silence in 2006.

Regicide’s music is associated with metal, death metal, brutal death metal, symphonic metal and gothic metal tags, reflecting the overlap of styles attached to the name in different listings.
