Reedale Rise is an electronic music producer and live act from Liverpool. His music sits across electro, house and techno, with an emphasis on melodic and emotional ideas.
Career
He makes his debut vinyl release in 2015 with a deep techno track on Edinburgh label Common Dreams. Two EPs follow on Frustrated Funk, the Dutch label known for deep electronic music, and in 2018 he releases a debut LP on Kondi Records. One of his tracks also appears on a Fabric CD mixed by Craig Richards.
His releases also appear on 2020 Vision, Boe Recordings, Where We Met, Emotions Electric, Childhood Intelligence, Assemble, Subwax Excursions, Propersound and Spaecial. Across this work, he develops a range of production styles while keeping a recognisable sound centred on melody and atmosphere.
Live work and earlier activity
Before releasing music, he is a prolific YouTuber known for a cult channel demonstrating hardware studio techniques. That background leads naturally into live performance, and his live show regularly plays clubs across the UK and Europe.
Background and influences
Reedale Rise spends his teenage years in Cornwall listening to techno and drum and bass mixes recorded from the radio. Artists including LTJ Bukem, Goldie, Dave Clarke and Jeff Mills are important early influences. In 1998 he moves from Cornwall to Liverpool to study at university and continue his musical education. While in Liverpool, he develops his clubbing tastes through Bugged Out! parties, with Derrick May and Carl Craig becoming continuing inspirations.
