Redinho is Tom Calvert, a London-based artist whose work develops from funk and soul roots, with an interest in turntablism and scratch DJ techniques. He spends his teenage years on the West Coast of the United States, where he becomes fascinated by California’s scratch DJs, and this influence informs his use of talkbox effects and his focus on how his tracks work in a live setting.

He first appears as Redinho with the Bare Blips EP in 2010, followed by the Edge Off EP on Numbers in 2011. After a period away from releasing, he returns with the single Searching in 2013. His self-titled debut album follows in 2014, preceded by the single Playing With Fire.

Stevie Wonder is among the artists he regularly listens to, and his music sits within electronic, experimental and related club-oriented styles.
