Red Sun is a Belgian trance duo also known as Amaterasu. The group consists of Maiko Mogi and Naoya Yoshida and forms around 2000. Its sound combines electronic production with a soft, melodic approach, moving between bossa-tinged tracks, dreamy electro pop, and groove-based bedroom pop. The duo’s recordings often centre on Maiko Mogi’s mid-range, smoky vocals and muted, organic synth textures.

Their style keeps a steady, understated pace rather than using rapid tempos or ornate technique. Although the music is built on electronics, it can at times suggest blues or lounge influences. Red Sun has released a number of albums over the years.
