Red Kites are a UK group formed in Guildford, Surrey in 2010, after the members meet at music college. The line-up includes Moteh Parrot on lead vocals and guitar, Liam Trevor on lead guitar, Andrew Reeves on drums and backing vocals, J.J. Fernandez on bass, and Jan Cees Samson on keys, backing vocals and percussion. The band is active from 2010 to the present.

Style and background

Frontman and songwriter Moteh Parrot comes from Inverness, and the Highlands are a central influence on the band’s music. Their sound combines Celtic-tinged alt-rock with a sense of unpredictability, alongside thoughtful lyrics, strong musicianship and a balance of rawness and melody. Their work is described as combining emotive writing, sweeping melody and a pop sensibility within modern rock.
