Rectal Smegma

Rectal Smegma is a Dutch goregrind group formed in 2003, originally under the name Carnal Rancidity. It starts as a four-piece from the west of the Netherlands, with a sound built around brutal gore grind, heavy groove, blastbeats and a humorous party atmosphere. The band remains active.

Its line-up changes over the years, particularly on guitar and bass, but it enters 2015 with what is described as its strongest line-up to that point. The music also develops over time, moving from an early neanderthal porn gore grind style toward faster, more aggressive goregrind with more groovy death metal influences and occasional punk elements.

Rectal Smegma has five full-length albums and several split releases. It also tours widely, with shows in Europe, Mexico, Japan and South America, and appears at festivals including Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Summer Breeze, PartySan and Obscene Extreme.
