Rebuild

Rebuild is a name used by two separate acts: a melodic hardcore band from Houthalen in Belgium, and a psychedelic folk project based in Portland, Oregon.

Melodic hardcore band

The Belgian Rebuild is a five-piece band from Houthalen, referred to as Houthalen(GWC) in the available information. It plays a mix of melodic hardcore and heavier material, and the members describe it as music they simply want to play. The group forms around friends living in the same city. Over its first two years, it shares stages with Brutality Will Prevail, Basement, More Than Life, Daylight, Cruel Hand, The Carrier, No Turning Back, Dead Swans, Lighthouse, Gold Kids, Touché Amoré and La Dispute.

Psychedelic folk project

The Portland version of Rebuild is a psychedelic folk music project started by Shawn K. It involves contributions from friends and family, with participants drawn from Portland and India. The project focuses on themes of religious abolition, introversion, and hopelessness, especially in relation to modern life and what it might become.

Its full-length releases include Process & Recursion, self-released in 2010, and Anthems For Religious Abolition, a second full-length self-release from May 2012.
