RD
RD is a name used by several different acts. One is the solo project of René Diekstra, who works as a guitar player, composer and computer programmer. His playing is often compared with Joe Satriani, and his debut album, Sum Of Its Parts, appears in 2019 and is available on CD, vinyl and streaming platforms including Spotify, iTunes and Deezer.
Another RD is the solo work of Roberto Drago, formerly of The Tapes, making instrumental and experimental synthesiser music shaped by the late 1980s. A separate UK RD is a trio made up of Troy, Martika and Chronz, drawing on the sound of groups such as En Vogue, Salt-N-Pepa and TLC; they also support Keri Hilson on a UK tour and issue the single Got Me Burnin'. There is also a Japanese rock band RD, with Kenzi Morooka and Hiroshi Shinriki in the line-up, known for performing the Victory Gundam theme song Don't Stop Carry On.
The name also appears in connection with the track Que passa with DJ Kayz.
