Ray Beadle
Ray Beadle is a Sydney-based Australian blues guitarist and singer who appears on the Australian blues festival circuit and performs in jump blues and swing-inflected styles. He plays with Ray Beadle & the Silver Dollars.
Career
Beadle performs at venues including The Basement in Sydney and has been invited to play with Renee Geyer, The Foreday Riders, The Hippos and Whose Muddy Shoes? He also fronts a five-piece group called Ray Beadle and the Vipers, which is filmed by Foxtel for the Live at the Basement series.
His tours of the United States include performances at B.B. King's Club in Memphis and Buddy Guy's Blues Club in Chicago, as well as several Southern blues festivals. While in the United States, he records with Mark Sallings. He also plays with American musicians Andy Just, Dave Bowen and Chris Cain.
Style and recognition
Beadle combines his own jump blues style with popular swing tunes. Chris Cain describes him as a strong songwriter and guitarist with notable harmonic and emotional depth.
