Raury

Raury Tullis is an alternative musician from Stone Mountain, Georgia, associated with soul, hip-hop, folk, indie, and indie pop. Born in 1996, he grows up in East Atlanta and attends Tucker High School. He also forms part of Hang Dynasty.

Early development

He begins rapping at the age of eight. By eleven, he teaches himself to play guitar by watching YouTube videos.

Recording career

His debut project, Indigo Child, appears in August 2014. In the same year, he signs to Columbia Records for a full release planned for 2015. He describes Indigo Child as a youthful project told from the perspective of a young underdog who is looked down upon and rises to success.

Recognition

Raury places fourth in the BBC's Sound of 2015, a list highlighting emerging artists for the year ahead.
