Ran-D

Ran-D is a hardstyle DJ and producer from Zeeland in the Netherlands. Born in 1981, he develops his work within the harder styles of electronic music and is associated with the Dutch hardstyle scene.

Career

He begins DJing after seeing a performer on the decks at a large rave and decides that he wants to do the same. He buys his first turntables in 1999 and spends much of his time practising. By 2001 he starts playing small live performances.

He begins producing music in 2003, after finding that DJing other artists’ tracks is not enough for him. His first release arrives in 2006 after a chance exchange of record bags at a gig leads to contact with the owners of the Dutch hardstyle label Special Records. He later releases music on the Italian label Droppin' Beats, and this brings him into contact with Arjen and Anco Timmermans, known as the Alphatwins.

Style and labels

Ran-D focuses on hardstyle and the harder side of dance music. The Ran-D sound is described as a strong fit with A2 Records, where he continues to work with the label.
