Ramses

Ramses is a German progressive rock band formed in Hannover in 1972. It is active from 1972 to the present and is associated with krautrock, progressive rock and symphonic prog. Its music is described as being in a similar vein to Eloy, Grobschnitt and Novalis.

The name Ramses is also used by several unrelated acts, including a traditional heavy metal band from Mexico City that appears on the first Escuadrón Metálico compilation in 1986 and issues three albums before disbanding, a heavy metal band from Affligem in Belgium active during the 1990s, a hip-hop artist from Austria, a hip-hop artist from Finland, and a DJ in Belgium who plays minimal techno, electro, house and tech house.
